Fourteen employees from the Santa Barbara Zoo attended two on-site Street Skills clinics (rules of the road & bike handling skills) in order to
increase their safety and confidence while bicycling on the road. One rider who seemed very enthusiastic about bike commuting shared at the end of the session: "Today, I learned THREE things:
1) I didn't realize that lane positioning was so critical and sent a signal to other road users about my intention of travel.
2) The quick release under my saddle always looked funny because I never learned how to tighten it.
3) I didn't know that the Y of the side straps of my helmet should meet just below my ears".
Five participants (photo) who have a team for the Bike Challenge this month, said that they were having a great time and they were hoping to win.
Thanks for riding!
